I know I've been MIA. I have been scrapping but I haven't been playing with my Cricut. In fact it is collecting dust. But I have been playing with new goodies. I am learning copic markers. Here is a new card I made. I hope you like it. My other new goodie it project life. Love love love it. I will post pics in a few about that. I am still in the beginning stages of it. This is a layout about my kids Taekwondo yellow belt test. It was also published in the Nov 2011 Edition of Cricut Magazine.

Base Pages

Print 2 pages of the red houndstooth pattern from the Audrey Imagine Cartridge page 5. Cut both pages to 11 ½ x 11 ½. Round corner of top left on one and top right on the other.
With the cuttlebug and the Polka Dots 5x7 Embossing Folder, use white cardstock and emboss Qty. 2, 6” x 1 ¾” and Qty. 2, 5 ¼” x 1 ¾”. Lightly ink the embossed paper with a black ink pad. Adhere to bottom of both houndstooth paper.
Adhere the ribbon to the top of the embossed paper on both pages.
Adhere both pages to Qty. 2, 12x12 sheet of paper. Tip: Do not center. Make flush with inside edge so when you put them together they are seamless.
Using your gypsy and gypsy font. Weld title at 1 ½” using white and yellow cardstock with black cardstock as the shadow. Adhere along top of both pages. Tip: Leave the y and e in yellow unglued so you will be able to tuck the lantern strings under later.

Left Page:

Add 6 photos to page. Here are the sizes clockwise.

#1. 3 ¼”x5, #2. 3”x5”, #3. 2 ¾”x2 ¾”, #4. 2 ¼”x2 ¾”, #5 3 ½”x2 ¾”, #6 2 ¾”x2 ¾” and adhere to page.

Using the Pagoda Cartridge cut and 4” using black and yellow cardstock. Adhere silver rhinestones. Tip: On Cut the string off and cut a new string 1/8” x 2”. Adhere to back of lamp. This is to make the lamp hang lower. Adhere both lamps and tuck strings under the y and e of the word yellow.
For the little boy use the Everyday Paperdoll cartridge. All cuts are 4”.

tan cardstock, (Headwear) Brown cardstock, White cardstock, Yellow cardstock, White Cardstock. Tip: Trim the so it is more like a shirt and not a long robe. Draw details on the robe and face with a black pen. Adhere with pop dots.

Right Page:

Add 4 photos to page. Here are the sizes clockwise.

#1 4”x5”, #2 1 ¾”x2 ¾”, #3 3 ¼”x2 ¾”, #4 5”x2 ¾”

Using the Pagoda Cartridge cut 4” using black and yellow cardstock. Adhere silver rhinestones.
Using the Pagoda Cartridge cut flipped 2 ¼” using black and yellow cardstock. Adhere silver rhinestones to center of flowers on Tip: Cut the bottom two flowers and little branches off. Also Freehand an extension of the main black branch. When adhering hide seam from branch behind which is step 4. So I would advise to adhere to <Temple> then adhere to base page.
Using the Pagoda Cartridge cut <Temple> 5” using black and red cardstock with white cardstock as the shadow. Adhere silver rhinestones.
Using the Pagoda Cartridge cut 2 ½” and adhere with pop dots.

First Day of School

I finally got a chance to whip out and use my Nifty Fifties Cartridge. It goes perfectly with the Echo Park Happy Days Collection. This collection is so my style. I used it to create a page of my kids first day of first grade and their new school. They acted like it was just another day but it was very emotional for me. My little boys are getting so big. Time really does fly by.

Jet Skiing

Have I told you lately that I work for the best company in the world!!! This is a layout. We were on our IT retreat and we all went jet skiing. It was my first time and it was so much fun! I didn't want to stop. Can't wait for next summer so I can go jet skiing with my husband.

Here are the last 2 recipes for the cricut circle recipe swaps that I have done. They are finally finished and ready to be shipped.

PeanutButter Cup Cookies

Ingredients

3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1 egg, beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 tablespoons milk
40 miniature chocolatecovered peanut butter cups, unwrapped

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).Sift together the flour, salt and baking soda; set aside.

2. Cream together the butter, sugar, peanut butterand brown sugar until fluffy. Beat in the egg, vanilla and milk. Add the flourmixture; mix well. Shape into 40 balls and place each into an ungreased minimuffin pan.

3. Bake at 375 degrees for about 8 minutes. Removefrom oven and immediately press a mini peanut butter cup into each ball. Cooland carefully remove from pan.

Chocolate Truffle Cookies

Ingredients

· 4 (1 ounce) squaresunsweetened chocolate, chopped

· 1 cup semisweet chocolatechips

· 6 tablespoons butter

· 3 eggs

· 1 cup white sugar

· 1 1/2 teaspoons vanillaextract

· 1/2 cup all-purpose flour

· 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoapowder

· 1/4 teaspoon baking powder

· 1/4 teaspoon salt

· 1 cup semisweet chocolatechips

Directions

1. In the microwave or in ametal bowl over a pan of simmering water, melt unsweetened chocolate, 1 cup ofthe chocolate chips, and the butter stirring occasionally until smooth. Removefrom heat and set aside to cool. In a large bowl, whip eggs and sugar untilthick and pale, about 2 minutes. Stir in the vanilla and the chocolate mixtureuntil well mixed. Combine the flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt; graduallystir into the chocolate mixture. Fold in remaining 1 cup chocolate chips. Coverdough and chill for at least an hour or overnight.

2. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F(175 degrees C). Roll chilled dough into 1 inch balls. Place on ungreasedcookie sheets so they are 2 inches apart.

3. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes inthe preheated oven. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes beforeremoving to a wire rack to cool completely.

Strawberry Cheesecake Bar Layout

I just got finished with my last recipe for the recipe swap. I really enjoyed doing this swap. I can't wait to see what others did for their layouts in the circle swap.

Strawberry Cheesecake Bars

Ingredients
• 1 (10 ounce) package frozen strawberries in syrup, thawed
• 1 tablespoon cornstarch
• 1 3/4 cups finely crushed cinnamon graham crackers
• 1/4 cup butter or margarine, melted
• 2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
• 1 (14 ounce) can Sweetened Condensed Milk
• 2 large eggs
• 1/3 cup lemon juice
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions
1. Heat oven to 350 degrees F. In blender container, blend
strawberries until smooth. In saucepan, combine strawberry puree
and cornstarch; cook and stir until thickened. Cool.
2. Combine graham crumbs and butter in small bowl;
press firmly on bottom of greased 13x9-inch baking pan.
3. In large bowl, beat cream cheese until fluffy. Gradually beat in
sweetened condensed milk until smooth. Add eggs, lemon juice
and vanilla; mix well. Pour over crust.
4. Drop strawberry mixture by spoonfuls over batter. Gently swirl with
a knife or spatula. Bake 25 to 30 minutes until center is set. Cool.
Cut into bars. Chill. Store leftovers covered in refrigerator.

Sour Cream Cookie Recipe

I am taking part in a circle recipe swap. So I decided to make the layout correspond with the circle recipe contest. This fits the requirements of A title, 3 buttons, 2 cricut cuts. Hope you like and wish me luck! Mama needs a cricut cake =)This layout actually has a pocket so you can pull out the recipe. It has the cookie recipe on one side and the frosting recipe on the other.

SourCream Cookies

Cookies

4 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup shortening
1 ¾ cup sugar
1 cup sour cream
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla

Directions

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.Cook for 10 minutes. Cream shortening & sugar. Add salt, vanilla, eggs& beat well. Add sour cream alternately with sifting dry ingredients. I do1 cup flour, ¼ teaspoon of baking powder & soda vs. 1/4 cup sour cream. Dothis 4 times. Chill dough thoroughly. Roll dough flat and cut out with cookiecutters.

Frosting

¼ cup melted shortening
2 cups powdered sugar
½ teaspoon vanilla
Milk
Food coloring if desired

Directions

Mix shortening, powderedsugar and vanilla. Using an electric mixer, add enough milk to give theconsistency you want. If you add too much milk, add a little more sugar. Addfood coloring if desired to make the cookies festive.

Crazy Delicious

My hubby and I went to San Francisco and found the most amazing restaurant for breakfast, Mama's on Washington. The breakfast there is amazing and apparently everyone in the city already knew it because you had to wait a minimum of an hour to eat. We met some great people in line and the wait was well worth it.

I got to do a layout today while my family and I are hiding from the 107 degree weather. This layout is of my precious niece Lizzy. I did this layout for the Cricut Circle Magazine Challenge. This month it's all about two of my loves Cricut and Cosmo Cricket. So it was a must that I made a layout and entered.

Tip: If you want to make an embellishment but don't have the right color cardstock. Cut it out in white and then find the matching copic markers and color away. This is what I did on the flowers. I also embossed them with the Candy Cane Strip Embossing Folder.

Here are cards I made using Swiss dot embossing folder and tie the knot cricut cartridge. The first one is personalized with monograms because I am going to a wedding and the next one is just a general one with a wedding cake on it to use up the paper and add to my card collection. Every scrapper should have premade homemade cards ready when needed. =)

Creating a Turquoise Stone by Janee Fakhreddine

This is a frame I made as a gift. I made turquoise stones out of cardstock. I love these gems.

The supplies you will need is
• Turquoise Cardstock
• Aquamarine Chalk (Misty Meadow Fluid Chalk Queue by Clearsnap)
• Tuxedo Smooch Ink by Clearsnap
• Illuminate Smooch Ink by Clearsnap
• White Pen
• Clear Pebble Stickers
• Cricut Cartridge with a circle like George or Plantin Schoolbook
• Expression Machine by Cricut

1. Cut 1", 3/4" and 1/2" circles out of turquoise cardstock
2. Use Tuxedo Smooch Ink by Clearsnap to create black lines
3. Use Illuminate Smooch Ink by Clearsnap to add glitter accents
4. Use the white pen to create a crescent reflection
5. Adhere clear pebble sticker
6. Add to project and enjoy

Alien Frame
1. Take one Frame Jen's 12 X 12 and paint it yellow (I used Making Memories Banana)
2. Use a piece of blue cardstock out of the Winter Cardstock Pack by American Crafts 12x12 and cut it down to 11" 1/4 x 11" 1.4 and cut two edges with a serious rounded corner.
3. Do the same as step two but use a black piece of cardstock from the Neutrals Cardstock Pack by American Crafts 12x12 and cut it down to 10" 3/4 x 10" 3/4".
4. Glue each piece of cardstock to the frame and cut out the window each time.
5. Cut the a 7" arrow using in orange cardstock (Summer Cardstock Pack by American Crafts 12x12) for the shadow and Basic Grey - Classmates from the Recess Collection Pack by Basic Grey 12 X 12 and adhere to frame.
6. Cut 1" strips of Orange Cardstock (Summer Cardstock Pack by American Crafts 12x12), Classmates, Answers and Lecture (Recess Collection Pack by Basic Grey 12 X 12 ). Layer them an cut off extra edges.
7. Using the pencil die shape (Recess Collection Pack by Basic Grey 12 X 12 ), glue to cardstock and cut out or Recess Chipboard Shapes. Add on orange cardstock from step 6.
8. Using the Boys Will be Boys Cartridge, cut out 3 1/2" using grey & white (Neutrals Cardstock Pack by American Crafts 12x12), yellow & orange (Summer Cardstock Pack by American Crafts 12x12). I used a black pen to make the black eyes instead of cutting out tiny black dots with my cricut. Assemble and adhere with Dimensional Dot Circles by American Crafts.
9. Using blue cardstock (Winter Cardstock Pack by American Crafts 12x12), Grey & White Cardstock Neutrals Cardstock Pack by American Crafts 12x12, cut out 3 1/2" . Adhere with Dimensional Dot Circles by American Crafts.
10. Use Yellow Rhinestone Spiral by Kaiser to make the "fly"
11. Cut a 1 1/2" Block Font title using blue cardstock (Winter Cardstock Pack by American Crafts 12x12) and yellow (Summer Cardstock Pack by American Crafts 12x12). Adhere
12. Using the star die shapes (Recess Collection Pack by Basic Grey 12 X 12 ), glue to cardstock and cut out or Recess Chipboard Shapes and adhere.
13. Add the District no.12 Academic White Rub-ons By Basic Grey.

Pirate Frame
1. Take one Frame Jen's 12 X 12 and paint it blue (I used Making Memories Cornflower)
2. Use a piece of yellow cardstock out of the Summer Cardstock Pack by American Crafts 12x12 and cut it down to 11" 1/4 x 11" 1.4 and cut two edges with a serious rounded corner.
3. Do the same as step two but use a black piece of cardstock from the Neutrals Cardstock Pack by American Crafts 12x12 and cut it down to 10" 3/4 x 10" 3/4".
4. Glue each piece of cardstock to the frame and cut out the window each time.
5. Cut out a wave using answers, 1" strips of Lecture and Teachers Lounge all from Recess Collection Pack by Basic Grey 12 X 12 . Stack like steps and adhere.
6. Using the pen die shape (Recess Collection Pack by Basic Grey 12 X 12 ), glue to cardstock and cut out or Recess Chipboard Shapes. Add on Teachers Lounge paper from step 5.
7. Cut a 4" using white, yellow and Equation (Recess Collection Pack by Basic Grey 12 X 12 ). Assemble and adhere with Dimensional Dot Circles by American Crafts.
8. Add the Notebook holes (Recess White Rub-ons By Basic Grey).
9. Cut a 2" 3/4" using orange & yellow (Summer Cardstock Pack by American Crafts 12x12), black and white (Neutrals Cardstock Pack by American Crafts ). Assemble and adhere with Dimensional Dot Circles by American Crafts.
10. Cut Title Cut a 1 1/2" Block Font title using red (Valentine Cardstock Pack by American Crafts 12x12) and yellow (Summer Cardstock Pack by American Crafts 12x12). Adhere
11. Using the circle die shapes (Recess Collection Pack by Basic Grey 12 X 12 ), glue to cardstock and cut out or Recess Chipboard Shapes and adhere.

Here is a layout I did for a contest at a crop at my LSS. I had 2 hours to do a layout. This made me really realize how slow of a scrapper I was. I was rushing like crazy to get this done. I love how it turned out. I won first place and got a fabulous prize. I love the crops at Remember When in Valencia, CA.

This is a layout I made of my kids Taekwondo Belt Test and Ceremony they had yesterday. It was so cute. They even broke wooden boards with their axe kicks. I am such a proud mama. Now my kids are at yellow belt.

I also made this for the Cricut Circle Tic Tack Toe Challenge. The 3 elements on the tic tack toe board I used was:

1. Use a cut of a flower shape on your project

2. Use a cuttlebug embossing folder on your project (notice the black dot border along the bottom of the page? I used the polka dot 5x7 embossing folder and inked it lightly with black.

3. Any patterned paper must be printed from the Imagine. (The red printer paper was printed using Audrey.

Making Crate Paper Flowers Using Glimmer Mist

I love the look of this flower and it is a really great way to use glimmer mist sprays to match your layout.

Supplies: Glimmer Mists, Misting Mat by Tattered Angels, super large, White Crate Paper, Removable Double Sided Tape, Cardboard or chipboard, Assorted Flower Layers by Color Me Crazy 16 ct and an embellishment

Take your white crate paper and cut about a 12". Spray with desired Glimmer Mists. For this I used Peppermint and Gold. I sprayed the entire piece of crate paper with Gold then lightly misted the peppermint so it would blend in. Let dry completely.

Using your double sided removable tape lay down about 9" on your table or Misting Mat by Tattered Angels, super large. Place the non glimmer mist side on the tape and lightly pleat while adhering.

Cut a 1" circle out of cardboard or chipboard.

Remove tape and crate paper from table and start lining the cardboard with the crate paper again lightly pleating.

For the center of the flower I used a white flower out of the Assorted Flower Layers by Color Me Crazy 16 ct pack and sprayed it with Garden Green Glimmer Mist. Let dry and adhere to center of crate paper flower

Add jewel embellishment to the center.

Directions:

Paint the top of the box Alvacado Paint by Making Memories, 2oz and the bottom with Rose Petal Paint by Making Memories, 2oz. Let completely dry.

Cover top of box with Basic Grey - Sugared-Dumpling Paper and sand edges.

For the yellow frame on the box I used the Storybook Font Cartridge by Cricut. <boy-s> It's the BdayBoy Accent frame at 11" x 8". You can use your Design Studio by Cricut or Gypsy by Provo Craft to manipulate the image. Ink edges with Rich Rustics Color Box Cat's Eye Queue by Clearsnap -Brown Chalk

To make priness I used the Once Upon a Princess Cartridge by Cricut . <Princss1> for the Doll and <Doll1> for the outfit. All cut at 7". I used Brown, Tan, Yellow, Pink, Bling Burgundy and Bling Pink Cardstock. After assembling the doll.

Assemble the dress separately. Emboss the pink bling dress with the Far East Bundle (Japanese Scales Embossing Folder) and pleat black tulle underneath the dress. I use my adhesive to hold it down. Then attach dress to doll and attach rhinestones. Attach to box with Pop Dots.

Apply Flowers to box (see tips and tricks on how to make the glimmer mist crate paper flower)

Cut Memories out using the Once Upon a Princess Cartridge by Cricut . Apply clear Stickles. And adhere to front of box.

Line bottom with Ribbon.

Enjoy your Princess Memory Box!

Wow it's been a very long time since I have posted any projects on my blog. How time flies when your having fun!

Here is an altered item I did for the April Cricut Circle monthly challenge. It's all about Recycle, Reuse or Repurpose. Here is my submission and I had a blast making it. This will be a gift that I am going to fill with bath salt.

The paper I used is Cosmo Cricket - Social Club
Cricut Cartridge used is Florals Embellished
Can you see my 3 Recycle, Reuse or Repurpose? It's the milk bottle, metal washers and orange and white wire from the inside of a dead ethernet cable. I love the cable. It looks like bakers twine but is stiff and can hold it's shape.

This company really almost makes me want to start digital scrapbooking because their stuff is just so yummy but thank goodness they also do traditional scrapbooking. Ever meet a paper collection that you just fall in love with???? That you love every single piece of paper and hope that your layout will do the beauty of the paper justice??? Non-Papercrafters can't understand but if your reading this I know that you do! Cosmo Cricket has fast become one of my favorite paper companies. When they released Crica 1934 they promoted it as a vintage collection but I feel it's more retro. As most of their papers are. Which I love! This collection has so many possibilities. Hope you like the layout and it does the paper justice.

I hope everyone is continuing to have a very Happy Holidays. The holiday season is always wonderful and crazy with our family. I have some great memories to scrapbook when I get around to it. I will definatly share with you all when completed. I was able to get a little scrapbooking done before the holidays. Here is the layout I did using the SEI Iron-ons. A whole album about me???

So I decided that I was going to make a mini chipboard album about myself. Scrapping about myself is very hard for me. Even though I know me better than anyone else, it's hard for me to talk about myself. So I am challenging myself. I have the base design for my mini album and the cover done. 1. Grab the Basic Grey - Boxer - Long Underwear paper. Us this as your base page.

2. Cut white cardstock using the "Burst" at 11.5" x 10.25". You can manipulate this image to this size by using your gypsy or design studio. Ink edges with Cat's Eye Charcoal chalk.

3. Cut the Basic Grey - Boxer - Buckle paper using the at 10.5" x 10.25". Again using your gypsy or design studio. And apply to white burst (step 2) and adhere to base page (step 1)

4. Using black, white and yellow cardstock cut 6" and assemble. Adhere to top left layout with double stacked foam pop up dots on star side and glue flat on tail end. This will give starts a shooting effect.

5. Triple mat a 4" x 6" with a 1/8" border on each color in white, yellow and black. And adhere on top of star tails.

6. Cut "You are my" 1 1/2" with a yellow shadow and blue font base. Adhere to layout.

7. Cut a 3" using blue, black and yellow cardstock and assemble. Adhere to layout

8. Cut a 5" in black, red and yellow. Assemble and adhere to right corner of layout. Apply small silver rhinestones to superman shield.

Tips and Tricks by Janee Fakhreddine

I love, love, love…. did I say love BLING!!!

Anything that sparkles I am a devoted fan. This is one of the reasons why Stickles and Glimmer Mist make me so giddy and is a must have in my collection. But along with this is my blow dryer. Yes a little cheap hair blow dryer. Stickles and Glimmer Mist can take a long time to dry. But what I do is set my blow dryer on cool. I hold my Stickled artwork down with a pen (not retracted of course) and dry away. This cuts the drying time drastically down. I do not use a heat gun because the heat is too hot and can burn or warp my paper.

When making a card & envelope sets like in the Sentimentals Cartridge it is best to cut out your envelope first. This is so you know how big you can go with your envelope. Then cut your card to match the envelope size.

Bee Card with Envelope

Card:

Cut a 4 1/2" card <Letter2> using white cardstock. Ink edges in black.

Cut a 4" x 4 1/2" yellow square, 3 3/4" x 4 1/4" green square & a 3 1/2" x 4" square using basic grey urban prairie, wild flowers paper. Ink all edges with black and adhere to white cardstock

Add green grosgrain ribbon.

Cut out a 2 1/2" <hive> in black for the shadow and outline. Also in yellow for the base. Stickle base and outline.

Envelope:

Cut a 4 1/2" envelope out of yellow cardstock.

Cut a 6 1/2" black scalloped circle by using tag <desk> then using the same key cut a 6" circle out of the using basic grey urban prairie, wild flowers paper.

Cut a 3 1/2" <bee> yellow for the shadow and black for the outline. Adhere all the envelope.

Envelope:

Using blue cardstock cut out envelope using <Pen>. Ink edges in black. (Make sure to keep the Fleur de lis cut out, we will use it on the card)

Cut a 2" x 2" square using pink cardstock and adhere it to the inside of the envelope behind the Fleur de lis.

Adhere some stickers from the Urban Prarie Collection Pack and add rhinestones.

Card:

Cut out 3 cards using <Folder> in pink cardstock, blue cardstock & Basic Grey Urban Prarie Bountiful paper

Using pink as the card base ink edges in black. Then cut the blue cardstock in half and them cut 1/4" off the top and bottom. Ink edges. Then cut the Basic Grey Urban Prairie Bountiful paper in half then cut 3/8" off the top and bottom. Ink edges and adhere.

Cut a 2"x3" strip of pink cardstock and emboss using the Fleur de lis Diamond A2 Embossing Folder. Adhere to page and add rhinestones.

Using the cut out Fleur de lis from the envelope. Stickle and adhere with pop dots.

When using a shape cartridge that's secondary feature has a font but the overlay just shows shapes. It is a lot easier to use an overlay from a font cartridge to type out your letters. This short cut will definitely save you time instead of flipping through the book searching for what shape matches what letter

Creative Xpress - Super Dino - By Janee Fakhreddine

For my very first CX assignment I was luck enough to work the Dinosaur Tracks cartridge. I love this cartridge because you can make the dinosaurs as real or imaginative as you want!

For my inspiration I picked my sons' cute dinosaurs they got from Build-A-Bear. They dressed them up as their favorite superheroes. Hence the title "Super Dino"

Here are the supplies that you will need for this layout.

Dinosaur Tracks Cartridge by Cricut (SKU # 29-1590)

Tiny Mosiac Texture A2 Embossing Folder by Cuttlebug (SKU # 37-1146)

Swiss Dotted Embossing Folder by Cuttlebug (SKU # 37-1604)

Granola Collection Pack by Basic Grey (SKU # 03-1377)

Glazed Granola Brads by Basic Grey (SKU # 03-1383)

Pearl Glimmer Mist by Tattered Angels (SKU #03-3708)

Cardstock: Green, Cream, Light Brown (Kraft), Dark Grey & Black

Dark Grey Embroidery Thread

Grab a 12"x12" piece of cardstock as your base. I always like to use either a sheet of a color I will never use or one that I used with my cricut that has holes in the back but I can still use as my foundation.

Cut the Sunflower, Jute, Crunchy & Trail Mix paper from your Granola Collection pack and cut it diagonal.

Adhere the Sunflower and Jute diagonal 1/2 sheets to your base page. So that it is completely covering the page.

Then start folding your diagonal 1/2 sheet of Crunch and Trail Mix papers in to different shaped triangles. Start playing with the positions of the various triangles on you page. Adhere to your liking. This is what my page looked like when I did it.
Grab your Cream Cardstock and cut Leaf #3 from the Dinosaur Tracks cartridge at 10.45". Adhere half of the leaf to the right side of your layout and cut off extra.

To hand stitch the leaf, I just traced an light outline about 1/8" inside the leaf with a pencil. I took a needle an made my holes. Erased the line and stitch the Dark Grey Embroidery Thread through the holes.

Cut a 4" Spinos Dino, 2" Tricer Dino and a 3" Pteran Dino. Add pearl glimmer mist and embossing.

Cut your title 1 1/4".

For the photo mats I used the pearl glimmer mist on the cream cardstock and used the Tiny Mosiac Texture A2 Embossing Folder on the colored cardstock. The frames have about an 1/8" frame for each color.

Adhere all elements to page. Add the Glazed Granola Brads by Basic Grey and journal inside the leaf.

The best way to carry all your cricut cartridges

Before I owned my gypsy i used to carry all of my cartridges to every crop I went to. I am not much of a planner so I take everything with me. Below is the best way i found to carry all my cricut items. I also altered it with vinyl, ribbon, flowers and rhinestones. I bought this at Target. I did put all my cartridges in a zip lock bag with a list of what I owned. But I had all the books, layovers and even my jukebox in there.

I love nested images. And I found a great way to do it using my cricut.

First you need to choose an image that is proportionate on each side. Load a 12x12 piece of paper. Press the center point button and line the cricut blade with the center of your paper. Select your image and cut the larges one you can first. Once that is done decrease your size by .5 and cut image again. Keep repeating step in .5 increments. Once you are done you will have a bunch of different sized images. This is also a great way to save paper if you know you want alot of that image on the same page.

Prep Work:

Paint all pages of the Kaiser Craft Album with Making Memories Daiquiri Paint.

Trace an album page minus the tab on a piece of paper to use as a template. Using the template cut 3 pieces of stiff felt for added pages to the album. Insert felt pages in between painted wood Kaiser Craft Album and punch out holes.

Cover:

Cover the front of your album with My Mind’s Eye – Laundry Line Coastal “Authentic” Real Imprint Paper

Using black cardstock cut 4” Heart <Heart1> from the Love Struck Cartridge & apply to album.

Cut title using 1 ¼” Ashlyn’s Alphabet in white. Cover with clear stickles. Then cut the title out in silver for the shadow

Apply Flowers & Rhinestones

Page 1:

Cut 5 ½” x 6” of My Minds Eye – Coastal “Comfort” Chesterfield Print Paper and round edges.

Cut a swoosh out of the My Minds Eye – Coastal “Curious” Curiously Large Spots paper about 5 ½” x 3” adhere this to “Comfort” Paper and ink edges with silver ink.

Cut 5” Brown <wshcme-s> from the Storybook Cartridge & ink with blue ink for the journal box.

Add title. I used the Don Juan cartridge.

Apply Flowers & Rhinestones.

Page 2:

Cut 4” x 6” My Minds Eye – Coastal “Lucky” Lucky Run Paper and round edges

Add photo with edges rounded

Cut a 1” Title using the Don Juan cartridge in white. Lay a piece of ribbon under title. Adhere all to felt page

Page 3:

Cut a red 6” Heart <heart4> from the Love Struck Cartridge & spray with pearl glimmer mist. Apply to felt.

Cut a 2” white <Love> from the Love Struck Cartridge

Add photo

Apply Flowers & Rhinestones.

Add photo matted with Red Cardstock

Add 1” title in black. I used the Mickey Font Cartridge for Disney & the Gypsy font welded for land.

Cut 5 ½” x 6” My Minds Eye – Coastal “Comfort” Cuddle Dots Paper with corners rounded.

Cut a red 5” <hearts> from the Love Struck Cartridge

Add journaling box

Adhere all to album

Add Rhinestones

Double Mat a Photo with white and Coastal “Authentic” Real Imprint Paper and adhere to red felt.

Apply Flowers & Rhinestones

Cut a 5” x 5.5” scalloped square using the Storybook Cartridge & the Coastal “Lucky” Golden Dot Paper. Ink edges with a black marker. Adhere to page.

Using the 2 ¾” <heartwng> from the Love Struck Cartridge, cut 2 images. A red and white. Also cut out the shadow <heartwng-s> in blue.

Layer the white cutout over the blue shadow. Then with the red, cut out the center heart and cover with red stickles. When dry adhere on top of white layer the apply rhinestones at tips of the wings.

Adhere a photo with a white mat with black inked edges. On top of scalloped square. Then add the add the heart wing cutout.

Using a scrap of the blue cardstock, add a strip for journaling.

Cover the wood page with My Minds Eye – Coastal “Celebrate” Table Cloth Paper

Cut a 5 ¾” x 4 ½” scalloped square using the Storybook Cartridge in red. Ink edges with a marker. Center photo and adhere to page.

Cut a strip of My Minds Eye – Coastal “Lucky” Lucky Run Paper that is 1” x 4 1/4”. Add a 4.5” long strip of black organdy ribbon on top of strip of paper. Add a title using the Don Juan Cartridge welded covered with Stickles “Waterfall” and adhere to ribbon.

Add strip of black pearls

Cut 5 ½”x 6” using the My Minds Eye – Coastal “Lucky” Lucky Run Paper

Cut a swoosh out of the My Minds Eye – Coastal “Authentic” Real Imprint paper about 5 ½” x 3” adhere only the left, right and bottom edges to “Lucky” Paper and ink edges with silver ink. This will create a pocket.

Weld a title using Gypsy Font & cover in Silver Stickles.

Add 2 small journaling boxes that has a library clip on the top of each and place in pocket.

· Cut a 4”x 6” out of My Minds Eye – “Celebrate” Party Flowers Paper & round edges.

· Add photos with a white mat and round edges.

· Cut a 1” love using the Home Décor Cartridge & cover with silver stickles.

Cut a swoosh out of the My Minds Eye – Coastal “Comfort” Cuddle Dots Paper that is about 2 ½” x 6 ½”. Adhere to bottom of page and round corners.

Cut a 4” <hrtshdw2> using the Love Struck Cartridge.

Cut out title. I used family from Gypsy Wandering. I stretched it 2”x5”.

Add photos. Adhere all the page

Outline heart using rhinestones.

Page 12

Cover the wood page with My Minds Eye – Coastal “Curious” Curiously Large Spots Paper.

Add photo with a blue mat with rounded corners & ink with black marker.

Use the Coastal “Lucky” Title and ink with black marker.

Apply Flowers & Rhinestones

Attach all pages together with Kaiser Craft Album Rings with ribbon attached to each ring.

Lizzy by Janee Fakhreddine

So this is a gift I made for my In-Law Eric & Tiffany. This was made about my little neice Lizzy. It is hanging beautifully next to her crib. The frame is an amazing magnetic frame from Creative Memories. I have two of these in my house two. They are great. I love this layout! The cool thing about this is that everything is detachable from the frame and there is a base page with photos and embellishments that are a standard 12x12 that they can slip into an album. So when we want to upgrade her layout with her age we can.

Don't call it a come back!!!

Alright so here I am back at my unloved, forgotten blog. Here is my 2010 attempt to make you AWESOME!!!! So here I go. I am planning on posting a new layout of mine every two weeks. And a re-cap of whats going on with me.

So on to the recap...
I decided last year to get out in the scrapbooking world and see if people thought my layouts were as good as I thought they were. Yep I really have grown the past few years in scrapbooking. Found my individual voice. Amazingly this happened when I cancelled all my magazine subscriptions and stopped really looking at other peoples work for inspiration. It is just me. No to say I don't still love to look at amazing artist's work and learn a thing or two.
So I decided to enter on of my layouts into the Creating Keepsakes Pasadena Convention layout contest. I won second place. Check out the posting... It's a badge of honor Creating Keepsakes
So then I decided I wanted to be part of a design team. Not just any team.... But the holy grail of design teams.... Creative Xpress.com.... What What.... And can you believe it. I got accepted as a 2009-2010 Design Team member. That's Insane. They like me they really like me. So how lucky am I? I get to play with the latest cricut cartridges and share my work every month. I am 3 months into it already and I still pinch myself to see if I'm dreaming.... Check out the website to see my goodies and the goodies from the rest of the amazing design team.

Well I haven't updated this in a long time. Alot of things have happened. I am still dealing with not smoking. I will have a cig once a week. The holidays were great. We had a great Christmas. Sam got his promotion. The is now the General Manager of the new store in Newbury Park. So now we are looking to move. I've never moved anywhere that I knew nothing about. I am thinking about moving to either Newbury Park, Camarillo, Moorpark or Simi. They are only 30 minutes away or less but I know nothing about them. It's weird. I hope there are some great scrapbooking groups out there. But I will have to drive to scrap with my old groups. What a new adventure i'm in for. -janee

Day 1: Smoke Free
So on Sunday I just cut down on smoking. For no reason but the fact that I started getting that yucky dizzy feeling. So I cut down to 2-3 cigs a day since then. And today I started the patch. I am hoping I can quit. I am soooo afraid of dying too young and not seeing all of the major events in my kid's life. So today I am starting Day 1: Smoke Free.

On Saturday Nov. 4th, 2006. I attended the 3rd Annual Crop-A-Thon in Reseda, CA. It was 12 hours of scrapping fun. It was a great combination of my new Scrappin' Sisters and my old Canoga Park Meetup. There were great vendors and great food. I will post the pages I did when I get a chance to take the photos. My Holloween layout won best Holiday Page. I got a great 4x6 Album kit that I plan to put to good use. I also made an altered 5x7 album which came out great!!!

Look at me. I'm trying to get a constant blog going. Y 4 U ask? Because I always think of really cute things my kids did and when I get around to scrapping the photos my story doesn't seem as clever. So If I'm at the computer and can just jot it down. Besides that this will also be a blog about my life as a mom, a girlfriend and full time employee. And my quest to live my life to the fullest.
